I don’t want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don’t want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don’t want to do that.

Although I am frankly frightened by the amount of psychotropic drugs now being taken by kids, I have to admit that I’ve become intrigued by the topic of ADD. I am researching the topic for an article I’m writing for a magazine.

As I read through the symptoms, I realized that I would unquestionably have been diagnosed with ADD if I were a kid now instead of a kid in the 70s and 80s. Except for discipline problems at home and in the classroom, I had just about every single symptom.

And in fact, I still do. I clearly fit the adult ADD profile, which is why writing and editing are a good job fit for me. I get to do new things every week or even every day, so I never have to stay with something beyond the limit of my very scattered attention span.

Hi Katie!

Wow!

I have been researching just about everything I can find relating to mothering (AKA everything related to Attachment parenting), and I came across your book. After reading it, I have yet to stop telling everyone I meet to read it. I even have a tendency to carry it around with me just so someone will ask me about it.

Anyway, I never thought that I would “run into you” so to speak. But I was …well actually, having an ADD moment now that I think of it…. I was supPOSED to be doing some of my psychology homework, but I was surfing amazon.com instead, and was trying to find my friends’ Wish Lists. In the process, I found YOUR wish list, and then your site. So yea… I was kind of excited, and am STILL procrastinating.

Anyhoo, I wanted to say Hello, and thank you SO much for your book. I think that yours is the most all-inclusive - that is, if I could only recommend one of the several books that I have read in studies, yours gives the most information and resources to help connect to the other topics. (That made sense in my head, I appologize if you got confused)

If you ever have some spare time and want to stop by my page and say hello, feel free. I generally blog on Xanga (http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=CapoeiraCristao).

Anyway, thank you again for the book!

I would really encourage anyone who thinks they might be ADD to get it checked out. Even if you never take medication, knowing that you are ADD will help you accept many of the things you’ve probably been beating yourself up with for years.

My diagnosis change my life.
