I don’t want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don’t want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don’t want to do that.

This seems hard to believe, but feminist nemesis and lightning rod Caitlin Flanagan’s much-hyped book apparently only sold 8,700 COPIES.

That’s similar to the sales for K-Fed’s CD.

You know, I actually read this book and was extraordinarily disappointed with her. I ordered it after seeing her interviewed and hearing her mention, in an off camera way as the interview teaser was closing out: “choosing a nanny is much like choosing a girlfriend for your husband”. I was hooked and HAD TO READ this book - anyone that comical gets my second look. Anyway, she is likable and engaging and the content is definitely easy read material - but my disappointment came from the fact that she was professing (in the interview) to be this tormented stay at home Mom when in reality she had a nanny THE WHOLE TIME. Granted she had twins, but hey, I wanted legitimacy here - no help man! (I kid). I was hoping to connect with her humor b/c she was a stay at home Mom and I could relate to the trials and tribulations of that. Hugely disappointed that was not the case. But on her talking points, I agreed with a majority of them. Oh! And the end, the end was a nail biter. I won’t give it away.

Anonymous, those are the same issued we had with Iris Krasnow’s book SURRENDERING TO MOTHERHOOD. She makes a grand deal about “surrendering” when she has material advantages that few other moms possess.

Crap, that didn’t work. Here’s the link to her book.

Good. Now I can buy a remaindered copy and indulge my curiosity without wasting money or supporting her efforts in any measurable way.
