I don’t want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don’t want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don’t want to do that.

Jon has been telling me I have to get off the Blogger platform for a while now. I resisted, saying Blogger has been fine for me. Then my blog was loced up for four days while Google (which owns Blogger) decided whether I was a spambot. They also said that if I didn’t post for one week for any reason during my “you are a spam bot” period, my entire blog would be deleted. Since I’ve been writing on Blogger for 5 years now, that would kind of be a huge loss. So anyway, I decided to let Jon switch me over to Wordpress, and back all my old posts up, too. So here I am on Wordpress. I am hopeful that Blogger will release my blog soon, and then all my previous blog posts will show up on this new platform as well.

I hope to find a template that’s less boring.

I like it better. I have problems with the Blogger comments page in Firefox.

I’m “on” wordpress now, too. (Although I’m new to the whole blogging thing. And for some reason, I haven’t been able to comment on your blog for weeks so I’m glad you’re switching. Yay!

You might have to get rid of the visitor map. Or tweak something, since your posts are at the bottom of the site. At least that’s what I’m getting, using Internet Explorer. This happened to my Blogger blog but I called Google headquarters, made a telephonic stink and they released it that same day. Visually this is a much more attractive design, though I’m curious about posting photographs, will that be as easy?

Barbara - I’m not seeing what you’re saying about the posts at the bottom of the site. I’ve looked at it in firefox and ie and they both look fine to me (ie actually looks better than firefox, I think).

Posting photographs should be easy as pie. WordPress is getting very popular because it’s so easy to use yet has tons of features.

Lynnster Says:

Jon, I’m not seeing that either - it looks fine in both Firefox and IE here too.

Katie, welcome to the wonderful world of WordPress! You are going to love it, I promise!

like the new look but ouch, my eyes!
these 45 year old, nearly blind eyes just can’t deal with the pale color text on the bright white background.
i have to add that you look absolutely glorious!

I would love to know the name of the first template you had up yesterday, and where you found it. TIA.

I like the look of this new blog.
Why did you take away the splash of water and the other lay out? It was nice!

jonathan hickman Says:

The other theme is called Water, and you can get it here.

I liked a lot of things about it, but Katie thought it was less than exciting (so is this one, I guess) and I think she got tired of looking at the water.

She still can’t even access this blog from work, so it’s still a work in progress!

I don’t like the page being too wide to see without using a scroll bar.

jonathan hickman Says:

Wha?

What browser are you using?

I see no horizontal scroll bar in ie7 or fx 2.

Can you tell what’s breaking it?

jonathan hickman Says:

I’m guessing you don’t have a widescreen?

I’m not even sure where I’d find a non-widescreen to test it on.
