what not to say July 28, 2007
If someone you know is having, say, days and days of extremely tiring and uncomfortable contractions that land her in the hospital with an epidural, pitocin, morphine, and numerous internal checks that ultimately reveal zero progress toward an actual, human baby, I suggest that you NOT refer to said experience as “false” labor.
Yeah.
Don’t call it that. It might make her, uhhhh, mad.

UUGGG! It is actual labor, it is actual pain, it is actual torture to endure this without actually taking a baby home. Whomever told you this was false labor, that person has never been there. It is painful, mentally and physically.
Need help burying the body?
Yeah, well, that person can feel free to disappear until after the birth, huh?
Get ou! Someone said that?
FOR REAL?
You know… no jury in the world would convict you…
I’d be spending all my waking hours in the birthing tub. Prisoners at Guantanamo are treated better than your body is treating you right now.
Hang in there Katie!
I know THAT’S right!!!
Hey there–I just randomly checked in after being out of town all weekend…pitocin??? And you are at home resting??? Wow. You really need to TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. Sleep. Feet up. etc. Let me know if i can help out. Baby charlotte just is ready to be here i guess.
thinking about you
I wonder how things are going. Two people predicted today would be the day. That would be wild.
