I don’t want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don’t want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don’t want to do that.

near miss August 23, 2007

Jon used to be married to someone else. When they broke up, it was a clean break: they no longer speak or see one another at all, even though we live in the same city.

But once I met her when we ran into her at an event downtown. He introduced us. And I’ve seen photos. So I know what she looks like. And yesterday I had the very bizarre experience of almost ramming my car into her as she pulled out onto Kingston Pike. I don’t know if she noticed that her near miss was me (or even what a near miss it was), but I noticed. And I thought about how bizarre it would have been if I had managed to literally crash into Jon’s ex wife.

Not entirely related, but a car-wreck story nonetheless. I dated a David Walker, which obviously is a common name, but he didn’t expect it to be so common that when exchanging information on a fender bender, he found out David Walker hit David Walker. The insurance companies were so confused it took forever to get straightened out!
