C. hearts Buggy December 22, 2007
C. is now 20 weeks old and she had a big developmental breakthrough today: she suddenly discovered toys.
Before today, I would dangle her baby toys in front of her and she would pretty much look right past them; she was far more interested in her hands or my chest. But all of a sudden today, she saw these colorful, buzzing, squeezable objects in a whole new light. Her favorite appears to be THIS ONE, whom we have christened “Buggy.”
Buggy is C’s new best friend. She wants to clutch at him and suck on his delectable, crackly wings. She now lives to stare lovingly at his developmentally appropriate black and white underbelly. When I pull his cord and make him buzz, she shakes all over in euphoric delight. Sometimes it’s enough to send her over the edge and into a shrieking fit. The awesomeness that is Buggy is just too much for one 15 pound human to handle.
It’s very cute, but somewhat exhausting, since she gets very upset if Buggy is not presented for her enjoyment pretty much constantly. This is a job that requires a cooperative parent or older sibling, since despite her best efforts, she can’t keep Buggy in her still-sloppy clutches (blame those slow-developing baby primate motor skils) for more than about 15 seconds without significant assistance.
She’s asleep now. I’ll bet Buggy will figure prominently in her dreams tonight.

Too funny and very sweet.
how sweeeeeet! if you can find a way to hang that thing in her car seat you may have found your erueka!
