bragging on my husband April 19, 2008
In the past two weeks, Jon has
–emptied out J’s room
–gotten the walls ready to paint
–painted the entire room, including two closets, and lots of white trim
–re-hung her curtains, shelves, and pictures
–moved all the furniture back in
– DOne more than his share caring for our demanding 9 week old puppy.
–removed 800 lbs (that’s a real number - they weigh it at the dump, so we actually know how much) of assorted debris from under our deck and in the backyard, and from the closet we are turning into a room, and taken it to the dump (this was all stuff like old bikes and drywall and car batteries left by the previous owner)
–mowed the lawn twice
-trimmed our front hedges back
–made further progress on getting our front fence painted (it’s half done now)
–driven one hour in each direction - leaving at 9pm to pick up some friends whose car had broken down
–bought his mother’s birthday gifts
–worked at his full time job as an accountant during the last stretch of tax season’
–taken his 8 month old daughter to work with him (his mother helps once they get there) each day
–kept the kitchen clean
–started several nice fires in the evenings
And through all of this, he remained kind, sweet, funny, pleasant and generally set an excellent example for being the kind of person I try harder to be.It’s always good to live with someone who inspires you to be a better person. He does.
Of course, he has high praise for me, too. Sometimes he teases me by saying I’m “the best wife he’s ever had.”

Dang! Wish I had that kind of energy and determination!
You’ve definitely got a keeper!
