This & That October 7, 2008
The baby cousins are REALLY enjoying getting more outdoor paytime together now that the weather is cooler and the mosquitos have abated somewhat. Mosquitoes don’t usually bother me at all, but we literally were SWARMED with them during September. I have never seen anything like it.
In other news:
-Today is H’s SEVENTEENTH birthday! I cannot believe it. And he’s suddenly, like, 100 feet tall (not even including his copious hair)
-The kids taught C. to say “whoa!” in a surprised voice with a silly expression on her face. She says it over and over to their great delight, and they all laugh and laugh.
-I am trying to figure out to wear to the First Annual Hank Allison Memorial Tacky Party. For years, my parents had a “tacky party” each year, where guests had to come dressed in creatively tacky attire, and they served bizarre things like Kroger Cost Cutter brand beer (remember that?), vienna sausages and circus peanuts (the orange spongy candy-like food product shaped like large peanuts). Now, my brother is resurrecting it in my father’s honor, and I have to figure out a really good costume. Ideas anyone?
ah, sarah palin comes to my mind immediately. maybe in her moose-hunting attire.
Nah, I don’t see anything tacky about Sarah Palin’s hunting garb - looks pretty standard to me.
Dina Lohan leaps to my mind, especially if you could get J. to dress like Lindsay or Ali so you could drag her around with you and shove her in front of cameras.
