I don’t want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don’t want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don’t want to do that.

Is it too early to decorate for Christmas? November 15, 2008

-Job —->> stressful right now. And any stress with a job is extra intense these days, for those of us who work in media during this period of mass bloodletting. It’s a scary time in the industry. Good reminder to always have a Plan B.

-H —->>> He loves, loves, loves his new school. That makes me happy. But I rarely see him lately. I miss him. He’s growing up. His father gifted him with a used mountain bike, so now he has a way to get around town, since he doesn’t drive yet (he hasn’t shown any inclination to become a licensed, insured driver).

-J&E —–>>>> At Disney World (!!!) for a few days with their father and family. Big treat for them. They even get to miss a few days of school. Ten-year-old E. has never been, and I think it’s going to be one of the most fun things he’s ever gotten to do. I can’t wait to hear all about it when they get back. J. toured two private high schools this week for next year. She didn’t like the one she thought she would like best as well as the one she’s less likely to get into. So now she has a Plan A and a Plan B. I also explained to her that you always need a backup plan in life ;-) I hope so much she gets in where she wants to get in.

-Baby C. —>> At 15 months, she’s a talkin’ fool. She says well over 30 words quite clearly. None of my other have talked this much, this early. Yesterday she spoke a sentence: “I don’t want doggies,” referring to the fact that Fiat, Mabel & Leo would not quit barking. She may be a child prodigy. She’s definitely very cute.

In other news: I have some, which I cannot share yet, but will later (how is that for cryptic?). And last but not least, I cannot wait to decorate for Christmas! Can I start today or would that be tacky?

Did you know you can find out what I am blogging about by following me on TWITTER or FACEBOOK? And I’d be wildly grateful if you subscribed to my BABBLE BLOG, or considered adding a link to this blog or my other one to your own website or blog. Thanks!

I would definitely wait until after Thanksgiving. Any earlier, and you look like you’re trying to hard. You don’t want to look like a desperate retail store! :)

My neighbor put up her entire Christmas display on freakin November 1……….lights and all. I think that’s too early. I will start organizing the week before T-giving and decorate the next day. I love decorating for Christmas more and more every year. But I can’t do it this early.

Oh. Be much relieved that H. is not in a hurry to drive. My M. drove to PF Changs last night and I was beside myself! She’s been driving for two years, but still it is hard.

Leslie Says:

Wait till after Thanksgiving! Please! It isn’t even Advent yet. :-)

Emily does not drive either because we are strict and won’t allow it. Be happy you have one less thing to worry about!

I wonder if one of the schools J. visited this week is the one Teddy also visited and will be attending? He said there was a group from her school there. He can hardly wait to start–wishes we’d skipped him up a grade!

If you have time now & might not later, if it cheers your family & won’t get old before Christams eve- I say go for it!!! My folks used to be the last ( sometiems Christmas Eve ) to get the tree up. Since we favor Frasier Firs, extremely tall ones & real - this was practical ( not dried out ) and also $$$ saving - waiting for those markdowns after the weekend prior to BIG DAY….now we have accepted the faux tree advantages- cost, mess & allergies & keep them up longer!

I’m very happy for H. I thought Laurel High would be a good fit for him.

You frequently comment on how Baby C is so different from your other kids. She has a different daddy!

Yep, here is my news: http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/homework/archive/2008/11/16/can-you-be-a-little-bit-pregnant.aspx

But it’s still a little early to get too excited about it yet. I would say we are more like cautiously optimistic at this point. Once I see a heartbeat on ultrasound, I’ll be happy.
